About Africa Means Business (AfriBiz54) Conference & Exhibition

Africa is the economic powerhouse the world is waiting for. Equipped with enormous resources, the dawn of the giant to arise has come and whether it’s the Western Africa, Eastern, Southern or Northern Africa, the giant is rising and the world is beginning to feel. Corporate Africa is taking shape and indigenous Companies are rising with their CEOs taking the corner offices with grit, confidence and the right combination of skills to steer their organizations to Africa’s prosperity.

Africa Means Business (AfriBiz54) is a convergence of entrepreneurs, business owners and governments that are eager to transform and exploit Africa’s economic potential for the benefit of Africa. It’s a meeting that happens once a year (every March) in a selected city that is chosen from bidding countries.

The purpose of Africa Means Business is to catalyze Africa’s economic engine and to fast-track the usage of the massive resources available in the Continent. There is no more reason why Africa must remain to be a continent of poor people.

The collaborative approach that brings together like minded individuals and Organizations among them Lan-x Africa Limited will ensure the rise of Africa happens fast. Resources available in the continent are now being collated together and through the annual conferences, mobilize existing and potential entrepreneurs and investors to establish structured and meaningful ways to generate wealth through harnessing and utilizing them for the good of Africa.

This is the Kairos moment for Africa and Africa’s resources should and must be exploited by Africans for the good of Africa and the world.

The March 2025 Conference to be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Center, Nairobi Kenya builds on the already ongoing process of Africa’s economic transformation.

Africa’s Potential

Africa’s total wealth contribution is less than 3% of the world wealth (New World Wealth, 2021-2023). Individual wealth continues to be dismal in Africa and yet Africa with 17% of the world’s population has:

  • 6% of the world’s oil output
  • 90% of the world’s platinum supply
  • 90% of the world’s cobalt supply
  • ½ of the world’s gold supply
  • 2/3 of the world’s manganese
  • 35% of the world’s uranium
  • 75% of the world’s coltan
  • 65% of the world’s arable land
  • 10% of the planets renewable water resources

Andrew Shirley wrote on the Knight Franck’s Wealth Report 2021, “Africa offers a wealth of investment opportunities, but has so far struggled to fulfill its potential”. Andrew observed that there is a need to change this by harnessing the power of the continent’s entrepreneurial spirit. This is why Africa Means Business is here to catalyze the activation of such potential.
